Dan Ginnel has been very active in Northern Westchester Real Estate for over 30 years. He has spent his entire career at Ginnel Real Estate, a brokerage firm founded by his father, Frank Brown Ginnel, in 1951.

More by osmosis than anything else, Dan developed a passion for real estate at an early age. He started purchasing investment properties at 16 and obtained his sales associate license at 18. In 1977, at age 21, he joined Ginnel Real Estate with a broker's license in hand. In 1990, Dan became President of Ginnel Real Estate.

As a lifelong resident of Northern Westchester, Dan believes that the residential business is very provincial. Having a tremendous historical knowledge of individual properties is invaluable in providing the highest level of service to clients and customers. Since becoming President of Ginnel, Dan has concentrated on consolidating and refining his business rather than creating a network of branch offices providing marginal service. Focusing on supporting a highly talented group of industry leaders with tremendous market knowledge has proved to be very successful.

Throughout Dan's career, he has been very involved in land and tax planning as a way to maximize client's property values. With an emphasis in conservation, Dan believes preserving open space through land donations and easements has a very positive effect on all property values and the quality of life in Northern Westchester. He supports the Westchester Land Trust, both as a financial benefactor and as a member of its advisory board. He believes very strongly that property owners should get advice on maintaining their property values in advance of when they plan to sell. Many value-adding suggestions can take years to fully implement. For the past 60 years, all of the associates of Ginnel Real Estate have believed in taking a very long-term approach to all aspects of the real estate business. As Ted Turner, the largest private property owner in the United States, has said "Land is the only thing that lasts forever."
